My School

I am a student in the fifth grade. I go to school every day from Monday to Friday. My school is near my house, about a ten-minute walk. I walk to school in the morning with my friends. We meet at the corner of our street and walk together. It is fun to talk with them on the way.

My school is called Sunshine Elementary School. The building is big and has three floors. It is painted white and blue. There is a beautiful garden in front of the school. There are flowers and trees. In spring, the cherry blossoms are very pretty!

School starts at 8:30 in the morning. Before class begins, we have a morning meeting. The teacher checks who is present. Then we say the school pledge and sing a song. I have many classes during the day. I have six or seven classes every day.

My classroom is on the second floor, room 5-2. That means fifth grade, class 2. There are 25 students in my class. We have desks arranged in rows. The teacher's desk is at the front. There is a big blackboard and a TV screen for videos. We also have colorful posters on the walls.

My favorite subject is English. I like learning new words and speaking English. Our English teacher is very nice. She makes learning fun with games and songs. I also like math and science. In science class, we do cool experiments. Last week, we made a volcano with baking soda! It was amazing.

I don't like history very much. There are too many dates to remember. But my friend helps me study for history tests. We take a test every month in most subjects. I study hard to get good grades.

At 12 o'clock, we have lunch in the cafeteria. The school provides lunch, and the food is good. We have different menus every day. Monday is bibimbap day, my favorite! Tuesday is curry rice day. We can also have milk or juice. After eating, we brush our teeth in the bathroom.

Break time is fun. We have a 10-minute break between classes and a longer break after lunch. I play with my friends in the playground during the long break. We play tag, jump rope, or just talk and laugh together. Sometimes we play soccer on the field. The playground has swings, slides, and monkey bars too.

We also have special classes like music and art. In music class, we sing songs and play the recorder. In art class, we draw pictures and make crafts. PE (Physical Education) is on Wednesday. We exercise and play sports. I love PE because I can run and play!

After school, classes end at 3:30. I go to the library with my friends. The library is quiet and peaceful. I read books and do homework there. The librarian is very helpful. She recommends good books to read. I like adventure stories and comic books.

Then I go home at 4 o'clock. Sometimes I stay for after-school clubs. I am in the art club. We meet on Tuesdays and paint pictures.

I like my school very much because my teachers are nice and I have many friends! School is where I learn new things every day. It is also where I make happy memories. I feel lucky to go to such a great school!

나는 5학년 학생이다. 나는 월요일부터 금요일까지 매일 학교에 간다. 학교는 집에서 걸어서 약 10분 거리로 가깝다. 아침에 친구들과 함께 걸어서 학교에 간다. 우리 거리 모퉁이에서 만나서 함께 걸어간다. 가는 길에 이야기하는 것이 재미있다.

내 학교는 햇살 초등학교라고 불린다. 건물은 크고 3층이다. 흰색과 파란색으로 칠해져 있다. 학교 앞에 예쁜 정원이 있다. 꽃과 나무가 있다. 봄에는 벚꽃이 정말 예쁘다!

학교는 아침 8시 30분에 시작한다. 수업이 시작하기 전에 조회를 한다. 선생님이 출석을 확인한다. 그리고 교훈을 외우고 노래를 부른다. 하루 동안 수업이 많다. 매일 6~7개의 수업이 있다.

내 교실은 2층, 5-2반이다. 5학년 2반이라는 뜻이다. 우리 반에는 학생이 25명 있다. 책상이 줄지어 배치되어 있다. 선생님 책상은 앞쪽에 있다. 큰 칠판과 영상을 보는 TV 화면이 있다. 벽에는 알록달록한 포스터도 있다.

내가 가장 좋아하는 과목은 영어이다. 새로운 단어를 배우고 영어로 말하는 것을 좋아한다. 영어 선생님은 매우 친절하시다. 게임과 노래로 재미있게 배우게 해주신다. 수학과 과학도 좋아한다. 과학 시간에는 멋진 실험을 한다. 지난주에 베이킹소다로 화산을 만들었다! 정말 놀라웠다.

역사는 별로 좋아하지 않는다. 기억해야 할 날짜가 너무 많다. 하지만 친구가 역사 시험 공부를 도와준다. 대부분의 과목에서 매달 시험을 본다. 좋은 점수를 받으려고 열심히 공부한다.

12시에 식당에서 점심을 먹는다. 학교에서 점심을 제공하고, 음식이 맛있다. 매일 다른 메뉴가 있다. 월요일은 내가 좋아하는 비빔밥 날! 화요일은 카레라이스 날이다. 우유나 주스도 마실 수 있다. 먹고 나면 화장실에서 양치를 한다.

쉬는 시간은 재미있다. 수업 사이에 10분 쉬는 시간이 있고 점심 후에 더 긴 쉬는 시간이 있다. 긴 쉬는 시간에 운동장에서 친구들과 논다. 술래잡기, 줄넘기를 하거나 그냥 함께 이야기하고 웃는다. 가끔 운동장에서 축구를 한다. 놀이터에는 그네, 미끄럼틀, 정글짐도 있다.

음악과 미술 같은 특별 수업도 있다. 음악 시간에는 노래를 부르고 리코더를 연주한다. 미술 시간에는 그림을 그리고 공예품을 만든다. 체육은 수요일이다. 운동을 하고 스포츠를 한다. 뛰고 놀 수 있어서 체육을 좋아한다!

방과 후에 수업은 3시 30분에 끝난다. 친구들과 도서관에 간다. 도서관은 조용하고 평화롭다. 거기서 책을 읽고 숙제를 한다. 사서 선생님은 매우 도움이 되신다. 좋은 책을 추천해 주신다. 나는 모험 이야기와 만화책을 좋아한다.

그리고 4시에 집에 간다. 가끔 방과 후 동아리를 위해 남는다. 나는 미술 동아리에 있다. 화요일에 모여서 그림을 그린다.

선생님들이 친절하고 친구들이 많아서 학교가 정말 좋다! 학교는 매일 새로운 것을 배우는 곳이다. 행복한 추억을 만드는 곳이기도 하다. 이렇게 좋은 학교에 다녀서 운이 좋다고 느낀다!
